Harmonizing Leisure and Elegance
Studio Arthur Casas has completed two exceptional projects at Coudelaria, each meticulously designed to complement the grandeur of its surroundings. The first project is a multifunctional pavilion that serves as a leisure area, featuring a pool, barbecue area, gourmet kitchen, cellar, game area, spa, massage room, and gym. These spaces are seamlessly integrated into an open floor plan, perfect for hosting gatherings, aligning with the client’s vision of entertaining friends and family.
Showcasing Horses with Portuguese Flair
The client also needed a showroom to display their horses. Studio Arthur Casas designed a spacious landscaped area that highlights the beauty and elegance of the horses. Portuguese tiles add a touch of cultural heritage, blending harmoniously with the wooden walls and ceiling. The project incorporates other Portuguese influences, such as stone walls reminiscent of rural Portugal, and materials like charred wood, burnt cement floors, and textured sand-colored paint. The romantic landscaping further enhances the pastoral aesthetic.
Luxurious and Connected Guest House
The second project involves a guest house featuring 14 rooms, each with private gardens and access to a central patio with a striking water mirror. This guest house is aesthetically linked to the pavilion through the use of Portuguese tiles and wooden elements. The rooms are designed with watertight wooden blinds that enable cross ventilation, ensuring comfort and sustainability.
Efficient and Expedited Construction
The construction process was streamlined using innovative design solutions. The pavilion features a fully prefabricated metal structure and a sandwich roof, enhancing the thermal performance of the guest house. This approach not only expedited the building process but also ensured high-quality execution.
Emphasis on Materiality and Lighting
Materials influenced by Portuguese design play a significant role in highlighting key elements of the project. The stone pool with an infinity edge and the cellar with stone walls and a wooden floor are notable features. Lighting is thoughtfully implemented with micro luminaires for the ceiling and floor luminaires to accentuate the walls, creating an inviting and elegant atmosphere.
Conclusion
Coudelaria by Studio Arthur Casas is a masterful blend of functional design and aesthetic beauty. By integrating Portuguese cultural elements and employing efficient construction techniques, the projects offer luxurious and harmonious spaces that cater to leisure and elegance.
