Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Huanggang City, Hubei Province, Fragrant Lake•Wiki World Natural Camp stands as a beacon of architectural innovation and environmental harmony. Crafted by the collaborative efforts of Advanced Architecture Lab (AaL) and Wiki World, this project covers an area of approximately 200 acres, featuring 13 wooden houses thoughtfully scattered across the serene terrain. Serving as a part of the Wiki World Co-Building Plan, this endeavor aims to create a series of unique natural homes, celebrating the intrinsic beauty of nature.
Cabins of Diversity
The project boasts six distinct cabin types, each designed in collaboration with innovative partners. Reflecting a profound exploration of living possibilities and site-specific considerations, these cabins offer a diverse range of experiences. From the whimsical Dumbo, inspired by its distinctive double-slope roof resembling the beloved elephant, to the ethereal Sprite cabin, designed to evoke the mystical realm of elves, each structure presents a unique narrative that seamlessly integrates with its surroundings.
Harmonizing with Nature
Embracing the ethos of natural construction, Fragrant Lake•Wiki World Natural Camp prioritizes sustainability and environmental sensitivity. Retaining every tree within the site and preserving the original woodland and farmland texture, the project embodies a holistic approach to architecture. Prefabricated wooden structures, meticulously crafted by the collaborative team and users, are seamlessly integrated into the landscape, ensuring minimal disruption to the natural ecosystem.
