The cafe, specializing in French pastries, draws inspiration from its namesake, incorporating elements of French culture and the owner’s affinity for French bulldogs into its design ethos. Through a playful yet elegant aesthetic, the cafe seeks to captivate patrons and establish a distinct brand identity.
Architectural Expression
At the heart of the design lies the concept of ‘Kitsch,’ celebrating imperfection through architectural elements and materials. Drawing from the imagery of a French cathedral, the cafe features rhythmic arches of varying scales, eschewing symmetry in favor of whimsical irregularity. The design narrative unfolds across two levels, with imperfect arches carving out a sense of antiquity and modernity on the ground floor, while voids in inverted curves invite sunlight to dance on the second floor.
Crafting Imperfection
Textured concrete serves as the canvas for the cafe’s narrative, embodying the beauty of imperfection while reflecting the authenticity of raw materials.
